Two homes extensively damaged by fire in central Sarasota County yesterday afternoon. Firefighters say the blaze broke out in a storage shed behind one house in the 4500 block of Groveland Avenue, spread to the house and then to the home next door. This in a residential area south of Bee Ridge Road and east of Swift. Though seven people live in the two homes, only two were home at the time. They got out safely. Reports say the only injury was to a firefighter who had to be treated after she was bit by a cat.
