Three apartments have been claimed in a four-alarm blaze at Beneva Ridge Apartments. Sarasota County Fire Battalion Chief Mike Regnier says they received the call about 2pm Friday. The single apartment fire had spread and affected three of the units in the six-unit building. The Red Cross was on the scene assisting residents and firefighters. Beneva Road south of Bee Ridge Road was closed for several hours. The cause of the blaze remains unclear.
