Heavy rain caused the collapse of a roof at a building in downtown Sarasota this morning. The vacant storefront is in the 1600 block of Main Street. It’s a two-story building. Firefighters and city building inspectors checking it out now. They say no one was inside. The building now reportedly has rainwater inside. The extent of structural damage not yet known.
