The Sarasota County Fire Department extinguished a fire at Peppertree Bay just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Smoke; however. lingered on the second, third, and fourth floors more than two hours afterward.
Firefighters evacuated residents and tenants to the Siesta Key property’s clubhouse while they secured the building, and there were no injuries.
At least 11 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the scene, which caused a traffic slowdown on Midnight Pass Road.
