The Sarasota County School Board has now heard formally from five applicants for charter schools. Each of the five made a presentation to Board members at the Board’s monthly work session. Board members then questioned school representatives about how their plans mesh with standards the Board has already set for new charter schools in the county. The School Board will vote on the five applications on October 16th. Sarasota County already has eleven charter schools at ten sites.
