The Sarasota County Board of Commissioners has decided to go ahead with funding a number of community organizations despite shrinking county revenues and the uncertain economy. The Board handing out grant money to thirty organizations and agencies. The funding is part of the Commission’s annual contracted human services program. Among the largest recipients was the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, which will receive 174-thousand dollars. The total amount of human services grants: four-point-eight million dollars.
