At a budget workshop meeting, they discussed tapping into money that’s set aside to cover costs when county employees are sick or on vacation. The nearly ten million dollars is budgeted to cover sixty percent employee absence. One option: figure on around 25 percent instead and use the leftover cash for other expenses. No decision has yet been made.
