Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is trying to get his campaign back on the rails in Sarasota today. After slipping in the polls and having to weather criticism from his “47 percent” remarks that came to light early this week, Romney is making his first campaign appearance here. A late afternoon rally at the Ringling Museum kicks off several hours of appearances and fundraising. A 25-hundred-dollar-a-plate dinner at the Ritz-Carlton will be followed by a speech tonight. Sarasota has turned out strong crowds for Republican candidates this campaign season.
