A highway worker killed and a driver injured in an accident on I-75. Police say 53-year-old Steven Morgan of Port Charlotte was working to clean up an earlier accident in the southbound emergency lanes of I-75 near Fruitville Road. He was struck by a car driven by 18-year-old Brandon Conti of Sarasota as it swerved to avoid congestion from the earlier accident. Morgan pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car seriously injured and flown to Blake Trauma Center for treatment.
