Punta Gorda, FL – The temporary traffic signal at the intersection of US 41 and Acline Rd will be taken out of service and removed on Friday, February 17, 2012.
A temporary signal was constructed and put into service at the US 41 and Acline Rd intersection in conjunction with the Burnt Store Rd, Phase 1 widening project in May 2011. Now that both Burnt Store Rd and N. Jones Loop Rd have been reopened to traffic, the conditions which warranted the temporary signal have gone back to the pre-closure configuration eliminating the need for the signal. The intersection will return to a 2-way stop intersection with Acline stopping on both approaches to US 41.
Please exercise additional caution while traveling in the vicinity of this intersection, while motorists are readjusting to these new conditions.
