A Punta Gorda firm is being purchased by a company in Michigan. The Gulf Coast Business Review reports Troy, Mich.-based X-Ray Industries is set to acquire Arcadia Aerospace Industries, based locally. Arcadia builds inspection systems used to test the integrity of recently constructed aircraft. Following the acquisition, the company will not be moved, but instead have its capacity tripled, according to a release from the company. X-Ray, a similarly focused aircraft inspections firm with a 70-year business history, says it will invest $1.5 million in Arcadia’s Punta Gorda manufacturing facility over the next eight months. The expanded capacity will require between 10 and 12 new hires.
