No decision on a proposed new reverse-osmosis water treatment plant for Punta Gorda. The City Council putting off a decision on the 28-million-dollar project in order to do a more complete survey of residents to see what they think of the plan. It’ll be more a cost-benefit analysis than anything else, trying to determine whether Punta Gorda residents think the projected cost is worth having softer city water. The delay in making a decision, however, will cost the city a chance for a 25 percent grant to help with the cost. Filing deadline for that was moved up to early October.
