Gunfire outside a Port Charlotte bingo hall last night. Authorities say a man is in jail today after firing shots at an investigating deputy. No one was injured after the gun-waving suspect walked into Bingo Trail on Tamiami Trail. The gunman reportedly exchanged fire with a Charlotte County deputy who responded to the incident. Sheriff’s investigators say the shooting apparently not related to a drive-by shooting in Port Charlotte on Sunday in which several people were injured.
