Iola has voted to go ahead with plans to build a dog park — now, Parsons may have one, too. Supporters think they have just the spot, too: some open land that contains no structures because it’s part of the city’s flood plain. That patch of land is between Tenth and Eleventh Streets north of Main. Advocates say it would be a strong contender to replace the city’s present dog park, which is basically a temporary area in Marvel Park that’s fenced off to keep dogs under control. Now, there’s a push to get the Parsons City Commission to go ahead with plans for a permanent dog park.
