Last week, police in North Port were out on patrol looking for traffic violations such as running stop signs or failing to wear seat belts. WHDH-TV in Boston reports that while getting license and registration information, officers also casually asked drivers what they were still trying to buy for holiday gifts, then radioed that information to other officers at a nearby store. By the time the traffic stop wrapped up, a wrapped gift showed up at the scene, along with a reminder to stay safe and be mindful behind the wheel, but no citation to pay.
