Arrests have been made in connection with the theft of equipment from North Port High School.
19 year old Joshua Douglas Luff and 18 year old Edward Lee Brandon Hignutt, both of North Port, are charged wtih burglary and grand theft. Police say Luff and Hignutt broke into a storage facility at the school and stole almost $6,300 worth of baseball equipment. The two have admitted their guilt. They both were locked behind bars at the South Sarasota County Jail. The equipment is being recovered.
