North Port police are investigating a threat made to North Port High School this morning. School officials were contacted by students about an anonymous electronic posting on Facebook. The writer made several threats to the school grounds, specifically that there may be explosives on the site. Police Captain Anthony Sirianni says “the plausibility of this threat has not been substantiated.” But the school staff asked law enforcement to check out the school. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office sent three bomb-sniffing dogs to conduct a sweep of the school. Some parents posted on Facebook today that they were concerned and pulling their children from classes for the day.
