New technology at Sarasota Airport means you and your baggage can be scanned more efficiently — yet with more privacy. New scanners being unveiled that allow full body scanning without the nearly nude profiling that has been the case. Now, if the scanner does not detect a threat, the viewing screen will simply flash the OK symbol, instead of a body image. Even if a threat is detected, a generic outline will appear with an indication of where the threat was located. Sarasota one of the first airports to roll out the new scanning technology, which has quietly been in operation for several weeks without a hitch.
