A 34-year-old woman arrested after an 8-and-a-half-hour standoff in Port Charlotte — has been identified as Lisa Christopolus. She’s been charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, and battery by strangulation. The standoff ended at about 2:15 this morning. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department says deputies initially went to the home after the woman’s mother flagged down deputies, saying her daughter’s roommate did not want to enter the home. The roommate had said Christopolus was out of control and had grabbed her around the neck and started strangling her. When deputies got to the home, two shots were fired from upstairs, and another shot was fired after a short pause. A SWAT team eventually launched tear gas rounds into the home, and forced their way in. Christopolus was taken to Fawcett Memorial Hospital, and then to jail.
