Where boaters can drop anchor in Sarasota Bay and how long live-aboards can stay around are the subject of new restrictions. Sarasota Conty Commissioners last night deciding to prohibit anchoring within 150 feet of a waterfront residence for longer than twelve hours. Also, a new limit of three months at any one anchorage will go into effect. Downtown condominium groups and waterfront property owners urged the city to enact tighter controls. They also accused some of dumping sewage in the bay and allowing their boats to wash ashore in storms.
