Police say a man upset he had been promised a job and didn’t get it, threw coffee on the man who made the offer. Deputies don’t identify the man, who works at Gettel Nissan, who is said to have offered to pay John Darzen to wax his car. Darzen says the offer was made over the weekend, but the man called him Monday to say he’d changed his mind. Witnesses say Darzen showed up at the dealership Tuesday, threw a cup of coffee in the man’s face, pushed him down and punched him. Co-workers had to pull Darzen off the elderly man. He’s charged with assault on a person older than 65.
