A Tampa man sentenced after a guilty plea in the armed robbery of two Charlotte County banks. 49-year-old Kevin Stone sentenced to twenty-four years in federal prison. Investigators say Stone held a teller hostage at gunpoint as he robbed an R-D-C Bank branch on Peachland Boulevard in Port Charlotte in July, 2010. Then, wearing a surgical mask, gloves and a straw hat, he brandished a pistol and robbed several tellers at Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union on Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda in March, 2011. No one injured in either robbery.
