Florida labor officials say the state’s unemployment dropped to its lowest mark in nearly four years in October with 8.5% of the workforce still hunting for jobs. In Charlotte county, the October unemployment rate of 8.5 was down from 9.1 in September and 10.5 a year prior. For 27 consecutive months, Florida has experienced a positive annual job growth. According to the Florida Economic Estimating Conference, an estimated 900,000 jobs should be created by 2018.
