New grants for job-creating companies in Sarasota County. The largest grant — some 400-thousand dollars — is gong to Venice Regional Medical Center. That company is already operating and providing medical billing services. It’s planning an expansion that it says will create 217 new jobs over a two-year period. The county is also awarding a 124-thousand-dollar grant to a company that’s moving from Manatee to Sarasota County. Global Organic Specialty Source plans to add 62 news jobs over the next four years.
