Sarasota County detectives are calling it the most extensive prescription fraud scheme they’ve ever uncovered. In a case that’s been unfolding for months, investigators now say a nurse at a pain management clinic forged prescriptions for over 11-thousand oxycodone and hydrocodone pills over a ten-month period. Lori Kough is then accused of masterminding a ring of people, including her son, who pretended to be patients, got the prescriptions filled at Sun Coast pharmacies and then sold the illegal drugs, which had a street value of a quarter-million dollars.
