Police say a man who ran from them on a motorcycle Sunday night died during the high-speed chase. 19-year-old Matheus Flor ran a red light, struck an oncoming car and was killed just before 10pm Sunday according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He had sped off from a Punta Gorda Police officer who was attempting to stop him. The nature of that traffic violation hasn’t been released. The SUV he hit after blowing the red light was turning left. Two people in the SUV suffered minor injuries. Flor was airlifted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
