A Punta Gorda man is dead as the result of a crash Friday night. In a report released by the Highway Patrol yesterday, authorities said 22-year old David Gourdeau was the driver of a 2000 Chevy pickup that lost control on Enterprise Drive west of US 41 about 5pm Friday. He left the road and crashed into the building housing Jackson Sign and Shirts. As he crossed the parking lot Gourdeau also hit two other vehicles parked in the lot; one was unoccupied, while the driver of the other suffered minor injuries and was taken tot he hospital. Gourdeau was pronounced dead at Fawcett Memorial Hospital.
