Another arrest of a medical worker for calling in multiple prescriptions for the same drug to area pharmacies. Investigators say former medical assistant Elizabeth Pennell called in bogus prescriptions for Hydrocodone to various Sun Coast pharmacies on seventeen different occasions. Detectives say the case shows that so-called “doctor shopping” for illegal prescription meds is continuing to move more toward direct call-ins by medical personnel.
