You’re safer in Charlotte and Sarasota Counties than you were. In one case, a lot safer. New reports on violent crime, both locally and nationally, are out from the F-B-I today. They show a significant drop in violent crimes in Charlotte County in 2010 — 151/2 percent. Violent crime down in Sarasota County, too, by just under three percent. The F-B-I says violent crime is down nationwide by six percent.
