A federal judge has sentenced the former leader of one of the Sun Coast’s largest home-grown banks for deceiving federal regulators. 52-year-old Jerry Williams, former CEO of Orion Bank, was sentenced to six years in prison for conspiring to mislead regulators about the financial health of his banks. Williams was one of four defendants in the case and a judge said that he bears more responsibility than the others for the shuttering of orion Bank in 2009 and could have stopped the fraud that led to it at any time.
