Police say the man who apparently drowned in the Gulf of Mexico yesterday morning was a Sarasota man who had been snorkeling. New information today that the victim was 61-year-old Karl Bartholomew of Sarasota. Rescue officials say Bartholomew was snorkeling about two hundred yards off Lido Beach when he apparently experienced difficulty. Boaters spotted his boy floating in the water and called police.
