It was a busy Labor Day weekend for the Coast Guard and private boat towing companies. The combination of nice weather and the last long holiday of summer brought boaters out in droves and a number of them required some help. Two people were rescued when their boat began taking water. Another tow was needed after a boat struck a sand bar. And there were the inevitable out-of-gas situations. Dozens of boaters were left stranded one way or another but no one was injured and the Coast Guard got everyone home safely.
