The Sarasota County commission has greenlighted an increased in SCAT fares, effective October 3rd. One-way fixed route service will go from 75 cents to a dollar-25 per ride. The cost of a SCAT Express bus service pass will stay the same, at 85 dollars, which is good for 30 days of unlimited rides in the county. SCAT will introduce a student pass later this year for 30 dollars each semester. The fare increases are meant to keep SCAT running at the current level of services through the next fiscal year.
