Sarasota County deputies who were at a home on GArcia Avenue in Sarasota, investigating a different incident found a 23-month-old child crying in the backseat of a vehicle. The child had been left unattended and was not wearing a diaper. Upon investigation, deputies determined that the child’s mother, 31-year-old Jennifer Keiper, of Brighton Tennessee, was passed out inside a nearby residence. Investigators say the woman used drugs and passed out for three hours leaving the child alone in the car. Keiper was arrested. DCF has taken custody of the child.
