In a new twist on sales of alcohol to underage buyers, Charlotte County deputies have arrested a convenience store clerk for knowingly selling booze to a minor and charging a little extra for the service. Deputies say 40-year-old Shah Habibulah checked the minor’s I-D then sold him liquor anyway – adding five dollars to the price as a sort of service charge. It happened during an undercover sting operation in which seven Englewood-area store were checked for possible underage liquor sales.
