A new series of D-U-I checkpoints will be run by Charlotte County deputies tomorrow. The so-called “low manpower checkpoints” will stop traffic and test drivers for indications of driving drunk or under the influence of drugs. As usual, the Sheriff’s Office won’t say exactly where or during what hours the checkpoints will operate. They’ll be in effect tomorrow through Sunday at locations throughout Charlotte County. Previous D-U-I checkpoints have nabbed dozens of impaired drivers.
