The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the U-S Drug Enforcement Agency’s national “Drug Take-Back Day” on Saturday. DEA is coordinating a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets in the Sun Coast and across the country. The Take-Back Day will provide an opportunity for you to turn in any expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for safe destruction, no questions asked . Two DEA take-back locations in the county: The District-1 Office in the 6800 block of San Casa Road in Englewood and in Port Charlotte at the District-2 Office in Town Center Mall. Hours are ten to two this Saturday.
