The Charlotte County Commission today gave the go ahead start filing an unfair labor practice charge against the firefighters union. The Commission voted 4-1 to start proceedings against the Suncoast Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Local 2546 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO for “failure to bargain in good faith” as required by Florida labor laws. Contract talks started over a year ago.
