Charlotte County deputies will be conducting speed enforcement along Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte and Taylor Road in Punta Gorda. In 2010, there were over 100 crashes on those two roads alone, resulting in 44 injuries and nearly $500,000 in damages. Deputies will also be enforcing red lights and stop signs at the intersection of US 41 and Midway Boulevard in Port Charlotte as well as Exit 161 from I-75 onto Jones Loop Road in Punta Gorda. In 2010, there were 79 crashes at those two intersections that injured 39 people and resulted in over $430,000 in damages.
