The Charlotte County School District’s considering a pilot program for a new app for parents that’ll give them an alert when the the school bus their child is on is on its way. The app, created by “Synovia,” is called “Here Comes the Bus.” NBC2 reports it uses GPS tracking to relay the school bus location to a parents desktop or mobile device. A district spokesperson says it lets parents now where their children are and gives them the ability to exercise options is the bus is running late. The school board gets a presentation next week on the app. If the district decides to use the app, they’ll pay “Synovia” $2/month/bus for the service.
