(HARBOUR HEIGHTS) A Charlotte County Sheriff’s Street Crimes Unit deputy made a traffic stop Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. after seeing a woman in a car that was wanted on previous Narcotics Unit undercover drug buys. The deputy drove by 3181 Peace River Drive in Harbour Heights, and saw a 2002 Honda backing out of the driveway. She saw Michelle Marie Ott, 22, 2200 Kings Highway, Port Charlotte, duck her head down in the back seat attempting to conceal herself.

A traffic stop was made; in the car were Ott, her father, the driver Wesley Edward Schmitz, 33, and Jean Elizabeth Huden, 48, both of 3481 Peace River Drive. The deputy observed a small piece of white substance sticking to her skin by Ott’s bra which tested positive for Cocaine. In her purse a glass pipe with Cocaine residue was found. The two Probable Cause Affidavits for Ott were issued by Narcotics detectives for two undercover Crack Cocaine buys on July 20.

Deputies searched Huden’s purse and located two glass smoking pipes that tested positive for Cocaine, and a Methadone pill. Huden was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methadone, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Huden, a convicted felon, has been booked into the jail 10 times with 19 records; she posted a $6,000 bond and was released.

Ott was arrested on seven charges with two counts each for Sale and Delivery of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and one count of Possession of Crack Cocaine. Ott remains in jail without bond; this is her 15th booking with 25 records.

Schmitz, the driver, was charged with Driving While License Suspended or Revoked. This is Schmitz’ fifth booking with six records.

Anyone with knowledge of illegal drug activity is asked to please call the CCSO Narcotics Unit at 941-575-2157, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
