The man accused of murdering SCAT bus driver James Brotherton after trying to take money from him at an ATM has refused to appear in court. 31-year-old Charles Hill elected to sit in jail rather than appear at his initial arraignment. The process went on without him anyway. Hill is accused of murdering Brotherton just minutes after surveillance video showed the two at a Bank of American ATM machine early Saturday. Hill is being held without bond in the Sarasota County Jail.
