Authorities say a HAZMAT response was triggered at Pine View School this afternoon by a pile of baby powder. The Herald-Tribune reports one student reported having respiratory problems and went home. The call came into the Sarasota County Fire Department a little before 4 this afternoon about a sick student and a fine white powder in the schools’ library and media center. A school district spokesperson says parents will be contacted tonight about what happened.
