A massive investigation in Charlotte County has led to the arrest of two people who may have stolen items from as many as a hundred parked vehicles. Officers say 20-year-old Ashley Diedrick and 22-year-old Christopher Almenas of Port Charlotte are suspected in a two-week crime spree, all of which involved burglaries from unlocked vehicles. Detectives are crediting tips from CrimeStoppers for helping them track down the alleged thieves. They say stolen items were recovered in the suspects’ possessions as well as at area pawn shops.
