Sheriff’s deputies say when a check cashing store clerk became suspicious about the ID a man was giving as he tried to cash a nearly 10-thosuand dollar tax refund check, he called 9-1-1. Deuties arriving at the store Sunday recognized Terrance Lamont Lewis, who had been shot and dropped off at a hospital in Port Charlotte February 4th. According to deputies, Lewis tried to cash the refund check with a fake driver’s license in another person’s name. Deputies conducting the arrest found a loaded .380 caliber pistol in his rear pocket with the serial numbers filed off.
