Hundreds of people flying Allegiant in Punta Gorda, St. Petersburg and Orlando had their trips canceled over the New Year holiday with no definite answer about when they’d be able to return home. Some people said they had their flights canceled up to four times. NBC2 reports cancellations and delays were due to irregular operations, according to Allegiant Air. The airline later narrowed that explanation down to a staffing issue. An Allegiant spokesperson said passengers were offered the option to cancel for a complete refund or reschedule for another flight.
