John Garcia’s been sentenced to 20-years in state prison. The former karate instructor pleaded no contest today to two counts of Sexual Battery by a Person in Familial or Custodial Authority and two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Child between 12 and 16. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office first charged him in the case of a 14-year old girl, but media reports on that arrest led to three more complaints. Garcia will serve five years’ probation, be designated as a Sexual Predator, and have restrictions on where he can work and live.
