Two people who were struck and killed by a crashing airplane on a Venice beach last year will be honored in the upcoming Rose Parade. 36-year-old Ommy Irizarry and his 9-year-old daughter Oceana died from the collision that occurred on July 27, 2014. The plane was piloted by Karl Kokomoor with passenger David Theen, both of Englewood–neither man was injured. The Irizarrys were organ donors, according to LifeLink of Florida, and their pictures will join 58 others on the Donate Life float, which is making its 13th appearance in the Rose Parade. LifeLink says Oceana has helped save three lives while Ommy has benefited dozens of people.
