The City of North Port Parks and Recreation presents the 10th Annual Freedom Festival & Fireworks, which promises fun and entertainment for the entire family. Admission is free with gates opening at 6:00pm on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at North Port High School, 6400 West Price Boulevard. At 7:00pm, City officials will conduct an opening ceremony, with the presentation of colors by AmVets Post 312, and the National Anthem sung by members of the North Port Chorale. The Boneshakers band will perform on the main stage.
The City is sponsoring a free kids area that includes bounce houses, obstacles course, the Big Kahuna Water Slide, Joust, and the North Port Express. There will also be a family entertainment area including three corn hole stations; hula hoop, football and beach ball stations; bubble station; tot play area and a Viva Florida Treasure Hunt. A variety of vendors will be on site with food available for purchase. The festival will end with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:00pm.
Please keep in mind that the following is not permitted on festival grounds: dogs, alcohol, coolers, bicycles, chairs on field, and soliciting.
