VENICE — A 15-year-old Venice boy was killed in a car crash Sunday. The accident occurred near the corner of Jackson Road and Batello Drive, Venice, Florida.
The accident occurred Sunday afternoon when a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 17-year-old Venice male went off the road. The Jeep he was driving struck a tree and overturned, throwing the 15-year-old passenger from the vehicle.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the passenger was not wearing a seat belt, . The driver suffered minor injuries.
The report states that the Jeep tried to maneuver a curve in the road and went off the street, striking a curb, crashing in to a tree and flipped the vehicle.
